Original VNCI 6154A doip adapter experience

Original VNCI 6154A is the after-market 6154A Diagnostic Adapter from VNCI OBD company .That is compatible with lastest ODIS-23 and ODIS-E V17.It supports CANFD, and DOIP Protocol. VNCI6154A is the dealer-level tool for the vehicles of the Volkswagen Group including VW, AUDI, SKODA, SEAT, Bentley, and Lamborghini.

Here we share users’ really experience on the Original VNCI 6154A VCI

1.Hi guys,Just wanted to share my experience with VNCI6154A, as I could not find it on the forum if anyone has succesfully tested. It may help someone waiting to get a genuine one in the meantime.
I can confirm it works with ODIS-S 23 and ODIS-E 17, running original drivers without any modifications. that means it is not emulated ones.
Seems to work fast without any disconnections and displays the voltage, auto scan took less than one minute to complete.the older one Yellow SVCI 6154 make me crap ,it always disconnects offen.

2.I have been using VNCI 6154A for a while now. Never had any problems with it. Tested on multiple cars. Newest SW is 2.5 and FW 1.1.2.9. Firmware upgrade is not necessary but it is recommended for stability and support .Work with online geko account and flash units like a charm,Never had problems.
I did finish flashing the ECU of my wife’s Ibiza to downgrade it for a pre-dieselgate version. The VNCI 6154 worked flawlessly with ODIS-E 17.0.1 at the first attempt. It took about 4 minutes to finish.

3.About Wi-Fi connection,Remember plug 6154A head, connect the WIFI first then open ODIS, if order is wrong may cause unstable connection. I did connect with WIFI about 30mins and it was stable.
When you do flashing or coding job,i would advise you use usb wire connection .Little issue is that it Does not support 5G wifi .

4.The red vnci interface got upgraded as PDU api did , and all errors were fixed in time.

5.About Serial Number ,The default serial number for VNCI 6154 is 7 digits, which can be changed once for free. You can change it to a randomly composed 7-digit ID.

6.Be aware there have clone ones VNCI 6154 Interface ,that is bad quality.When connecting to car, USB connection disconnect continuely.But WI-FI not work(neither AP mode nor Station mode). If you open the cover ,you can check inside it actually different board ,and the WIFI adapter is not real, but you need to insert it to active the WIFI mode.there are two switches on board, when WIFI module inserted, it could make the switch on, So if you want to use wifi mode, you must do like original VAS6154, interesting but useless design).
